Real-life rescue cat, Bunny Simmons-Bloom is the inspiration for the Hello, My Name is Bunny! children’s book series, who shelter group KittyKind saved from a Brooklyn basement in 2014, in New York City. When we adopted her, we were instantly struck by her sweet nature. We quickly began to imagine what she would do to pay forward her good fortune, if given half the chance. This book series is the result of those imaginings.
To pay forward our good fortune in adopting Bunny, we donate $5 from every book sold to KIttyKind, and other U.S. rescue and shelter groups. See Our Donations page for more details.
About the Hello My Name is Bunny! children’s book series
This children’s book series features a small kitty with a big heart who’s finally found her fur-ever home. Yet Bunny can’t seem to enjoy her good luck knowing other animals aren’t as fortunate as she is.
This desire to help those in need compels Bunny to escape her safe, comfy home and embark on wild adventures, so far in New York and London. Who knows where Bunny will find herself next?
The first book in the series, Hello, My Name is Bunny! won a New York City Big Book Award in 2018, and renowned blog, The Conscious Cat, named it a Top Ten Cat-Themed Book. The Independent Press Awards 2019 named Hello, My Name is Bunny! London a Distinguished Favorite. The series is ideal for children age 6+ and for cat lovers of every age.
