About the Authors
Bunny Doogle Simmons-Bloom
Bunny was born in a basement in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and now lives in Beacon, NY in the Hudson Valley. Besides writing and reading, Bunny loves to eat, sleep, snuggle, and play.
Matt helped Bunny write this book, and is an adult and children’s author. He lives in Beacon, NY in the Hudson Valley with his wife, and co-creator of the Hello, My Name is Bunny! book series, Shelley Simmons-Bloom, and Bunny. His children’s books are Hello, My Name is Bunny! (2016) and Hello, My Name is Bunny! London (2018), and Hello, My Name is Bunny! Paris (2022). Matt has earned fiction fellowships at Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Breadloaf Writers’ Conference, and a residence at MacDowell Artists’ Colony.
Who would imagine that a small, adorable tuxedo cat could change your life? Well, it happened to us! When we adopted Bunny, we soon learned that half a million cats are homeless in NYC alone! With this in mind, we decided to find a way to help the incredible groups and volunteers that make life better for cats in need.
Matt’s a published adult fiction author, so we decided to create a children’s illustrated chapter book series about Bunny’s adventures paying forward her good fortune, inspired by hours of imagining what Bunny might get up to, if given half a chance. We have two goals: To help children to understand the power of kindness and empathy, and to raise money for the groups that work so hard to make a difference. We hope you’ll join us on this journey!

After finishing this book, I was immediately consumed with jealousy. Bunny had so many fun-sounding adventures, and now I have, like, 50 things on my cat bucket list. Thomas, That cat blog
This beautifully illustrated and equally beautifully written story will charm children and adults alike. I was pulled into the story from the very first page. As was the case with the first book, the antics of Bunny and her friends had me smiling throughout. Ingrid King, The conscious cat
We’re in love! Wonderful book, amazing art, beautiful story. We love you, Bunny! Highly recommend and we’ll be telling our friends about you. Vanille, etsy review
